Monitor Business Machines is pleased to join ECCA’s growing list of members following Monitor’s participation in this year’s conference in Waterford, Ireland.
While Monitor may be new to ECCA, the company is an international supplier of campus transaction management solutions, with over twenty years’ experience.
It has significant installations at the University of Birmingham, Southern Denmark University and the University of Chicago, developing breakthrough technology this year for the University of Sydney.Monitor offers account choice on student ID
Some 50,000 University of Sydney students now have an ID card combined with a Visa reloadable pre-paid card, the first on the continent.
Monitor worked with the University, Visa and the ANZ bank to develop a pre-paid card solution that can be used as the purse for campus transactions.
What is different from overseas offerings, says Monitor’s Chief Technical Officer Mike Ogram, is that unlike some simple co-branded cards, students can use their Visa card for university services like printing and also load value onto their Visa account on campus.
“Funds loaded to the Visa account through university touch-screen kiosks can also be used at 29 million merchants worldwide where Visa is accepted, including on-line, over the phone and in stores,” he says.
Monitor’s software charges campus transactions to either the Visa pre-paid account or a university account, depending on whether a user is a student or staff member.© European Campus Card Association (ECCA) All Rights Reserved
